Continuing their recent trend of re-signing free agents, the Cardinals announced the signing of OL Jeremy Bridges to a three-year contract Thursday afternoon. Terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.
The 6-4, 326-pound Bridges played in all 16 regular-season games for the Cardinals in 2009 and had four starts at left tackle. In his first start in place of the injured Mike Gandy, he excelled matched up against Vikings Pro Bowl DE Jared Allen in a 30-17 Arizona victory.
Bridges signed with Arizona early last September after playing three seasons with the Panthers. He originally joined the Cardinals in 2004 and played two seasons in Arizona after he was claimed off of waivers from the Eagles.
Bridges figures to compete with the promising Brandon Keith for the starting job at right tackle in 2010, with former first-round draft pick Levi Brown expected to replace Gandy, an unrestricted free agent who is not expected to return to the team.
On Wednesday the Cardinals re-upped with TEs Anthony Becht and Stephen Spach.
