The Bengals re-signed DT Tank Johnson on Thursday. According to ESPN.com, Johnson signed a four-year deal with the club.

Johnson, 28, played 14 games for Cincinnati with a career-high 13 starts. He notched 29 tackles with two sacks. He made a season-high five tackles in the Bengals' playoff loss to the Jets.

"Signing Tank now is a positive step for both him and the defensive team," said Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis in a statement issued by the team. "He was a very consistent performer last season and was a big part of our improved run defense. He is a tough-minded man who is a great pro during the week and brings a great competitive attitude to the field on Sunday."
