The Bears added another pass-catching option to their backfield Wednesday, signing former Redskins FB Eddie Williams.

Williams didn't see any regular-season action as a rookie in Washington. After being selected in the seventh round of the 2009 draft out of Idaho, he was cut before the start of the season and landed on the Redskins' practice squad. He was promoted to the 53-man roster Nov. 2 and was inactive for three games before breaking his leg in practice and being placed on injured reserve Nov. 23.

Williams was one of 10 players cut by the Redskins last Thursday.

The 6-1, 249-pounder joins Jason McKie as FB options for the Bears.
