The Raiders cut ties with two veterans Monday, according to an ESPN report, as Oakland released DE Greg Ellis and WR Javon Walker.

Walker signed a six-year, $55 million deal with the Raiders prior to the 2008 season, but he agreed to restructure the contract last offseason. The 31-year-old made 15 catches in ’08 before undergoing another knee surgery and he didn't make a single catch while playing in only three games last season.

Ellis spent one year with the Raiders, and head coach Tom Cable recently complimented him on bringing a strong veteran presence to a team that was in need of some leadership from its players. He made seven sacks last season, but he was bothered by a bad knee and had his shoulder scoped during the Raiders' bye week.
