The Chiefs re-signed WR Chris Chambers, an unrestricted free agent, to a three-year contract on Monday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The deal is reportedly worth $15 million, with $5.9 million guaranteed.

Chambers, 31, was claimed off waivers by the Chiefs last season after the Chargers released him. Contributing little in San Diego, Chambers went on to make a sizable impact in Kansas City, catching 36 passes for 608 yards and four touchdowns in nine games.

Quickly developing into a deep threat last season for QB Matt Cassel, Chambers likely will reprise that role in 2010, starting opposite Dwayne Bowe. Despite the veteran's re-signing, though, the Chiefs could still look to add a receiver early in the draft.

In nine pro seasons, Chambers has recorded 518 receptions for 7,435 yards and 57 TDs. His lone 1,000-yard campaign came in '05 with Miami, when he racked up 82-1,118-11 and earned a Pro Bowl berth.
