Milledgeville, Ga., police and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation expect to interview Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger in connection with an alleged sexual assault in the next 2-3 days, representatives from both departments said Monday.

Milledgeville Police Chief Woodrow W. Blue Jr. said his department has been in contact with Roethlisberger's attorney, Ed Garland, and expects to interview Roethlisberger in the next couple of days. Blue said Roethlisberger is cooperating with the investigation. The GBI expects to interview eight people in connection with the investigation in the next three days, said Tom Davis, GBI special agent in charge of Region 6, which includes Baldwin County, where Milledgeville is located.

Roethlisberger is being investigated in connection with a sexual assault alleged to have occurred at the Capital City nightclub in Milledgeville and reported to police on March 5.

Steelers president Art Rooney II released the following statement on Roethlisberger on Monday:

"All of us in the Steelers family are concerned about the recent incident involving Ben Roethlisberger in Georgia. We cannot comment on any of the specifics until law enforcement's investigation is concluded. Certainly, we will continue to closely monitor the situation."
