The busy Lions re-signed TE Will Heller today and released DE Dewayne White.
Heller, who was an unrestricted free agent, has been a key blocking tight end who picked up some of the receiving slack when Brandon Pettigrew went down with injury, catching 29 passes for 296 yards and a career-high three TDs.
White was a part-time starter last season, but he was not a great fit in Jim Schwartz’s defense as a holdover from the Rod Marinelli scheme.
The Lions also signed WR Brian Clark, who has been a special-teams standout for the Buccaneers and Broncos.
