The Saints re-signed backup S Pierson Prioleau to a one-year deal and are having "positive" discussions with free-agent S Darren Sharper about a new deal, according to PFW correspondent Mike Triplett, a beat writer for the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Prioleau played in 16 games last season, which was his first with the Saints. The 12th-year veteran made 29 tackles.

While the Saints allowed Sharper to gauge his value on the open market, Triplett reports that the team is still in contention to sign him.

SLB Scott Fujita was also allowed to hit unrestricted free agency and is reportedly meeting with the Browns. He spent the previous four seasons as a starter in New Orleans.
