The Eagles have cut WLB Will Witherspoon, a team spokesman said Friday afternoon.

Witherspoon was acquired before last season's trade deadlne from the Rams for WR Brandon Gibson and a 2010 fifth-round pick. In exchange, they got a player for 11 games.

Akeem Jordan is expected to move back to the weak-side LB spot in Witherspoon's place.
