The Buccaneers announced they released three players Thursday.

With hours to go before free agency begins, P Josh Bidwell, P Dirk Johnson and CB Torrie Cox will be available after being cut by Tampa Bay.

Bidwell, who turns 34 on March 13, spent the last six seasons with the Bucs, but missed all of 2009 while recovering from a hip injury. He made the Pro Bowl in 2005, which was his second season with Tampa Bay.

Johnson was signed to replace Bidwell in training camp last year, but an injury cut his season short as well. He'll turn 35 in June.

Cox, who has spent his entire career with the Bucs, contributed on special teams. The seven-year veteran played in 11 games last season and made 21 tackles.
