Former Raiders defensive assistant Randy Hanson is suing head coach Tom Cable and the team, according to an ESPN report. He filed the lawsuit, which contains three causes of action — assault, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress — Tuesday in Alameda County.

Hanson alleged that Cable broke his jaw during an altercation in August, but, after an investigation, the Napa County district attorney opted to not pursue charges against Cable. Hanson returned to work for the Raiders' personnel department in December.

The Raiders have not confirmed that Cable will be the team's head coach in 2010, but Cable made it clear that he would be remaining on the job during an interview with PFW at the Senior Bowl in late January.
