Dolphins OLB Jason Taylor recently underwent shoulder surgery, which should keep him out of action approximately three months, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

Taylor is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent March 5. He had a productive season at age 35 last year, and he has indicated that he'd like to return to Miami next season. That could happen, with the team likely to release OLB Joey Porter any day, although Dolphins executive VP of football operations Bill Parcells was noncommittal about Taylor's return during a recent chat on NFL.com.

Last season, his 13th in the NFL, Taylor recorded seven sacks, 42 tackles, one interception and three forced fumbles.
