The Falcons have confirmed that they indeed locked up WR Brian Finneran before he hit the open market.
Atlanta signed Finneran to a one-year contract extension, according to reports. The team did not release the terms of his new deal. He would have become an unrestricted free agent in March.
Finneran, who is heading into his 10th NFL season, caught 11 passes for 111 yards in 10 games last season before he was placed on injured reserve with a torn PCL. He will likely face competition for a roster spot in training camp.
