Former Chiefs defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergast has joined the Raiders' coaching staff, the team announced Monday.

The club did not say in what capacity he will serve on the staff, but one report indicated he would coach the defensive backs.

Pendergast has been a D-coordinator for the past six seasons, having filled the role for the Cardinals from 2004-08 before joining Todd Haley's staff in Kansas City in '09.
