New defensive coordinator Perry Fewell is going through the process of evaluating the Giants' defensive talent and trying to establish what he has. Considering the team had the franchise's worst statistical performance in decades, significant changes will be made. But Fewell hasn't said whether he will continue to run the Tampa-2-based system he used in Buffalo, which might not be the best every-down fit with the Giants' personnel. He gave a quick look at some of the principal concepts he hopes he can bring to the Giants' defense. "Obviously, I want to be fundamentally sound," Fewell said. "I want to be multiple in what we do. I want to attack. I want to be aggressive in what we do. I want our players to play fast and have fun playing the game. Definitely create turnovers; I believe you score on defense. I think you have to be physically tough. We have to play with discipline and we have to play as a team on defense."
