The Raiders have yet to say whether Tom Cable will still be their head coach for the 2010 season. They did, however, hire former Ravens quarterbacks coach Hue Jackson as their offensive coordinator on Tuesday.

Jackson is expected to call plays for the team next season. Cable, who worked with Jackson in 1990 at Cal-State Fullerton and at the University of California in ’96, handled the play-calling duties last season and for part of ’08.

One of the main tasks charged to Jackson is developing QB JaMarcus Russell, the No. 1 overall pick in ’07. Russell was pulled from the starting lineup at about the midpoint of last season by Cable, but the Raiders apparently aren't ready to give up on him yet.
