The Titans' return game was a major problem in 2009, and Tennessee can be expected to address it in the offseason, whether in free agency or the draft, the way we hear it. The Titans couldn't get much going on punts or kickoffs. To wit: the club tried five punt returners, none of whom had a return of longer than 18 yards. The Titans were a little more explosive on kickoff returns, with rookie WR Kenny Britt flashing some potential and notching a Titans' season-long 56-yard run among his team-high 24 returns, but Britt is very important to the offense, and finding a capable returner to bring back punts and kickoffs while filing a complementary role elsewhere would be ideal. The Titans hoped rookie CB Ryan Mouton would bolster the return game, but he fumbled three punts and one kickoff in a disappointing first NFL season.
