Turns out new Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll will have the final say on personnel after all. At Carroll's introductory press conference, Seahawks CEO Tod Leiweke said Carroll and the team's new GM would work "shoulder to shoulder," with the GM having the final word on personnel, and Carroll having the final say on who makes the final roster. But at the press conference to introduce new Seahawks GM John Schneider, a key member of Ted Thompson's personnel staff in Green Bay the past eight years, Leiweke said that, if there were a "coin toss" on a personnel decision, Carroll would win the flip. But considering the way Carroll gushed about Schneider at the new GM's unveiling, it appears a strong working relationship could be in the offing. "Leiweke talked about the instant sparks between Carroll and Schneider," said one source on the scene. "Carroll apparently loves Schneider's combination of youth (he's 38) and NFL experience (17 years with four different teams)."
