Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart announced on his Twitter account that he will undergo surgery on his left foot Wednesday.

Stewart, who gained 4.9 yard per carry in his first two NFL seasons, dealt with pain in his toe and Achilles tendon throughout the 2009 season, and it kept him out of many practices, although he played in every game.

The 22-year-old led the Panthers with 1,133 rushing yards in ’09 and scored 10 touchdowns.
