The Broncos' defense improved from its 2008 form during the ’09 season under coordinator Mike Nolan, but his time with the team has come to an end after just one year, according to reports.

Nolan told the Denver Post that he and head coach Josh McDaniels "mutually agreed to part ways," after the two held a meeting on Monday.

The Broncos were ranked seventh in total defense in ’09 after coming in 29th in the previous season. Nolan, who runs a 3-4 scheme, could be a candidate to interview for the Dolphins' vacancy at defensive coordinator, as Miami operates in a 3-4.
