As successful as the Packers' defense turned out to be in Dom Capers' first year in charge, the team enters the offseason scratching its head over two disturbing glitches — the unit's ugly breakdowns against high-powered spread offenses in the barn-burner losses to the Steelers in Week 15 and the Cardinals in the playoffs. "I certainly didn't think that, after the Pittsburgh game, we would go through the same thing again in Arizona," a perplexed Charles Woodson told PFW. "We just couldn't handle all those two-man stacks. With all the assignment breakdowns we had in that game, we weren't gonna stop anybody." One thing that became clear to close observers was just how much the defense ended up missing the injured CB Al Harris down the stretch. While Tramon Williams did a decent job filling Harris' starting role, backups Jarrett Bush, Brandon Underwood and Josh Bell struggled to hold their own, particularly Bush.
