Could Pascoe fill Giants' blocking TE role?

The Giants made a subtle pickup in December, adding 49ers 2009 sixth-rounder Bear Pascoe to the roster, and it was a mild surprise that he played ahead of TE Darcy Johnson at times down the stretch. The run game struggled to produce as it had in the past, and there's no question that some ineffectiveness on the line and injuries in the backfield helped contribute to that. But the lack of a smashmouth tight end also hurt. Johnson struggled with a shoulder injury, necessitating the signing of Pascoe, who stood out in limited snaps. Blocking is his forte, and it wouldn't be shocking to see him earn a role next season after having been cut elsewhere, similar to the way FB Madison Hedgecock left St. Louis and became a key blocker for the Giants. If he can show he can block consistently, Pascoe could earn more snaps than H-back Travis Beckum, who struggled to find a role as a rookie.
