Cornerback could be a position of flux for the Titans in the offseason. Starter Nick Harper, 35, is an unrestricted free agent, and even if he were to return — which seems unlikely — the Titans need to be grooming younger options at the position. Rod Hood, who intercepted three passes in six games with Tennessee after signing in October, is also a free agent. Head coach Jeff Fisher has repeatedly pointed to early-season injuries to Harper, CB Cortland Finnegan and S Vincent Fuller for the club's 0-6 start; the wave of injuries pressed rookie CBs Ryan Mouton and Jason McCourty into the secondary, and teams successfully attacked the Titans with the pass. Of the defense as a whole, Fisher recently said, "We're young at a lot of positions. We have a chance to get better." And indeed, improvement will be expected from the Titans' young cornerbacks next season.
