The Dolphins announced Bill Sheridan, who was fired from his job as the Giants' defensive coordinator after the season, as their new inside linebackers coach on Tuesday.

Miami fired defensive coordinator Paul Pasqualoni on Jan. 11, and its two LB coaches, George Edwards and Jim Reid, from the 2009 campaign left to take jobs as defensive coordinators for college teams recently.

Sheridan was promoted to D-coordinator in 2009 after serving as the Giants' LB coach for the previous four seasons.

The Dolphins are reportedly in talks with Mike Nolan, who resigned as the Broncos' D-coordinator on Monday, about becoming their next D-coordinator.
