Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer, who has helped make the Cincinnati defense one of the AFC's most stout in his two seasons on the job, will remain in his current position in 2010.
According to NFL.com, Zimmer signed a three-year contract with the club.
Under Zimmer's guidance, the Bengals finished fourth in yards allowed in 2009. Cincinnati surrendered the seventh-fewest rushing yards and the sixth-fewest passing yards in the NFL. Among AFC teams, only the Jets and Ravens allowed fewer points per game than the Bengals (18.2).
