Eagles face tough decision on Westbrook

Was RB Brian Westbrook's one touch — a 27-yard reception — in the playoff loss to the Cowboys his final one as an Eagle? The team faces a tough situation considering he is slated to make more than $7 million next season after seeing his role reduced following a midseason concussion and the wear and tear of a 30-year-old back. In December, Westbrook openly wondered about his future, not only with the Eagles but in the NFL. It was the first time he talked about retirement, and his multiple concussions this season could convince him to walk away. But if he decides to play, the Eagles could decide not to bring him back. They almost certainly would not want him at that salary. The future of the RB position belongs to LeSean McCoy, but he was not strong enough down the stretch to convince the team that he alone is ready to man the load. Hence, the difficult decision looming.
