Buccaneers S Jermaine Phillips was arrested at 4:50 a.m. EST Sunday for allegedly strangling his wife in a domestic dispute, according to an arrest report from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Website.

Phillips, 30, has been charged with domestic battery by strangulation, which is a felony. He's being held without bond. The altercation apparently began when Phillips' wife woke him up to confront about a woman's phone number she found on his cell phone.

Phillips, an eight-year veteran, has spent his entire career with the Bucs. He was placed on injured reserve after just two games this season when he broke his thumb.
