The sting lingers from the Colts' Week 16 decision to rest key players at the expense of a potentially perfect season. But it appears the strategy paid off in that just about every key player on the team is expected to be good to go for the playoffs — with one exception. While he will remain on the playoff roster, PK Adam Vinatieri is not expected to kick in the postseason after continuing to look "less than 100 percent" after missing nine games following mid-October surgery to remove a piece of cartilage from his right knee. Vinatieri will continue to be replaced by fellow veteran PK Matt Stover, who team insiders tell us is "having as much fun as he's ever had in his (20-year) career," on field goals and rookie Pat McAfee on kickoffs. We hear there could be another change in the Colts' special teams, with undrafted rookie WR-KR Sam Giguere, who made a favorable impression as a kickoff returner in the regular-season finale, possibly replacing Chad Simpson in that role.
