The Steelers have fired special-teams coordinator Bob Ligashesky and OL coach Larry Zierlein, the club announced Thursday.

Ligashesky and Zierlein coached three seasons in Pittsburgh, and both coached units that struggled in 2009. The Steelers surrendered four kickoff-return TDs this season and ranked in the bottom half of the league in opponent kickoff- and punt-return average. The offensive line again had issues in pass protection, as QB Ben Roethlisberger was sacked 50 times.

The Steelers are also seeking a new QB coach, as Ken Anderson has retired.
