Decisions on first-year head coach Jim Mora, as well as what to do with three of the first 40 picks in the upcoming draft, will no doubt be the top priorities of the Seahawks' new general manager. But team insiders tell us right behind those two tasks on what figures to be a rather lengthy to-do list is the plan for a host of aging veterans whose salaries far outweigh their declining production — most notably (and in no particular order) OLT Walter Jones, DE Patrick Kerney, S Deon Grant and WR Deion Branch. Among those four players, we hear Branch appears to be the most likely to be sent packing after continuing to be a major disappointment in a Seahawks uniform. "The scholarship is up now that (fired GM Tim) Ruskell is gone," said one team insider of Branch, whose name is being linked on the rumor mill with the Patriots, his former team, and the Broncos, who could be interested in him as a replacement for Brandon Marshall. "He's been a No. 3 receiver in Seattle, at best."
