Randy Hanson, the assistant who said Tom Cable attacked him and broke his jaw in August, returned to work for the Raiders, adding to the perception that Cable will not be back as head coach next season, team observers say. Cable said he was surprised that Hanson, who returned to work in the team's personnel department on Dec. 9, was back with the organization. It's believed that Hanson worked as a mole for Al Davis during Lane Kiffin's tenure as head coach, and Cable clearly didn't think highly of Hanson before the incident between them transpired during training camp. Charges were never filed against Cable after the police investigated the alleged attack, but Hanson was said to be considering filing a civil suit against him. There is speculation that Davis, who retained Cable as head coach in the offseason after he took over for Kiffin on an interim basis in 2008, will fire Cable after this season.
