When you allow a Seattle rushing offense to gain 170 yards one week after it ran for a franchise-low four yards, you know you have some real problems. When asked by PFW in a phone interview to discuss the problems the Rams' defense has had this season against the run, starting rookie MLB James Laurinaitis more than willingly obliged. "Well, I think it's a few things," the Rams' leading tackler told PFW. "The whole season it has kind of been … we don't feel like teams are going like six (yards), eight, six, four (at a time). We feel like they are hitting a wall, hitting a wall, hitting a wall, and one play, either a linebacker gets cut off or a defensive lineman gets reached or someone falls down or someone fits in the 'A' gap instead of the 'B,' you know?" Laurinaitis said there are no excuses for the Rams' ragged run defense. "We have to get that corrected," he said. "Good defenses are perfect every time."

PFW has launched its brand-new NFL Draft Newsletter series, with the second issue now ready for mailing. Produced by PFW's player personnel department under the direction of Nolan Nawrocki, the series consists of four information-packed issues.
