We hear the Buccaneers are pleased with the way FS Tanard Jackson has responded since being suspended for the first four games of the season for violating the league's substance-abuse policy. Team observers say Jackson has rededicated himself to the Bucs and has made significant strides in straightening out some personal issues off the field. He started all 33 games he played in during his first two seasons, but the organization was concerned about his reliability after it received notification of his suspension. Since returning, Jackson is said to appear more focused and he's having a strong season. He has a career-best three interceptions and boosted the team's struggling offense by scoring two touchdowns. With SS Jermaine Phillips, who is on injured reserve, set to become a free agent in the offseason and CB Ronde Barber approaching the end of his career, Jackson is going to be looked to as a leader of the secondary in the near future.
