Redskins TE Chris Cooley's foot and ankle were not getting any better, and so, with the team out of the playoff race, it placed him on injured reserve.
And rookie DL Jeremy Jarmon became the latest casualty in Washington, suffering a torn ACL that will end his season.
Replacing them on the roster are LB Alvin Bowen and DE Rob Jackson, both of whom were signed from the team's practice squad.
Cooley had spent the past month rehabbing and working to get back after having pins placed in his ankle, but he wasn't making enough progress to return to the field this season. Replacement Fred Davis has shown signs of being a good receiver in his place.
Jarmon suffered the injury in Sunday's 27-24 loss at Philadelphia. Head coach Jim Zorn announced Monday that Jarmon was headed to injured reserve. The supplemental draft pick had come on in recent weeks and was contributing more to the defense as a nickel rusher, even moving inside to tackle at times.
