When the Bills found themselves thin at linebacker during their Week Nine bye, they decided to make a move, converting seventh-year SS Bryan Scott into a weak-side 'backer. While the switch has gone fairly well for Scott — he has racked up 20 tackles and a sack while starting the past two games — we hear that the move speaks more for Buffalo's lack of confidence in its younger players than for the team's faith in the veteran. Not only did LBs Ashlee Palmer and Jon Corto get passed on for the promotion, but the Bills also refused to take a chance on moving 2009 first-round pick Aaron Maybin. Maybin has barely played at his natural position of defensive end this season, and from what we're told, it would have made perfect sense to give him a test run at linebacker with the club clearly playing for the future. Instead, he remains on the bench and is beginning to look like a bust.
