After RB Jason Snelling handled a full workload last week, the Falcons' backfield could be about to get a lot more crowded. Michael Turner, who sat out last Sunday with a high ankle sprain, was able to practice in a limited capacity this week and could return for Sunday's game vs. the Bucs. He's listed as questionable and will be a game-time decision, though, so owners will need to check his status prior to kickoff. Jerious Norwood (hip) also could be back this week after practicing in full Friday, even further complicating matters. If Turner is active for this one, Snelling owners will have to bench their guy, as his role will be greatly reduced.
Bengals RB Cedric Benson is another back who could return to the lineup after missing Week 11. Dealing with a hip injury, Benson was able to put in a limited practice Friday and is considered questionable to face the Browns on Sunday. If he's declared active, Benson is a must-start in a very favorable matchup with the Browns. If he's out, Bernard Scott would once again start and would make for a solid fantasy play even though he'll be splitting carries. WR Laveranues Coles (chest) is also listed as questionable after practicing on a limited basis Friday and looks like a game-time call.
Two QBs who left their Week 11 contests with head injuries seemingly will have different outcomes Sunday. The Cardinals' Kurt Warner sat out the entire second half last week after taking a hard hit but put in another full practice on Friday and expects to start against the Titans despite being listed as questionable. It wouldn't hurt to confirm his status on Sunday, but Warner should be fine to have in your lineup. The opposite is true for Pittsburgh's Ben Roethlisberger, who missed a few plays last Sunday after being dealt a shot to the head. He practiced all week without any setbacks, but he reportedly had second thoughts about playing after experiencing headaches late in the week. With Steelers backup QB Charlie Batch sidelined with a broken wrist, second-year man Dennis Dixon will replace Roethlisberger. Dixon has thrown only one regular-season pass in two years, so fantasy owners should avoid him at all costs.
Rams RB Steven Jackson has been churning out yards at a rapid rate, but he might not be doing much running this week. That's because Jackson missed this entire week of practice after hurting his back last Sunday and is officially listed as questionable for Week 12. It's still possible that Jackson could face the Seahawks on Sunday, but owners obviously have reason to be concerned and will need to check back for his status in advance of kickoff. On the other sideline, Seattle head coach Jim Mora said Friday that RB Julius Jones (chest) is still in pain and will be a game-time decision this week. If Jones sits again, Justin Forsett makes for a terrific start in this one.
Is the league's most dangerous running back in danger of missing Week 12? Well, Vikings RB Adrian Peterson is listed as questionable for Sunday's meeting with the Bears after an illness kept him out of Friday's practice completely. It doesn't seem like this would be something that would sideline Peterson come Sunday, but owners will definitely want to confirm that he's active this week before finalizing their lineups. If it turns out he can't go, Chester Taylor would be in line for a heavy workload and would be a fine fantasy start against Chicago.
Other notable players listed as questionable this week are: Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (Achilles) and Cardinals PK Neil Rackers (groin). Rams QB Marc Bulger (knee), Redskins RB Clinton Portis (head) and Eagles RB Brian Westbrook (head) have all been declared out.
