Colts owner and chief executive officer Jim Irsay officially announced today the promotion of Chris Polian to vice president and general manager. Polian, who signed a long-term contract, will oversee the day-to-day operations in all football-related areas of the franchise and will continue working alongside his father, Colts President Bill Polian.
Chris Polian first served with the club as director of pro scouting (1998-2000). He held the title of assistant director of football operations from 2001-03, and was promoted to assistant general manager/football operations in 2004. Polian was serving in his fifth season as vice president of football operations prior to the promotion.
