The Dolphins will be without injured NT Jason Ferguson for the rest of the season, and there is some doubt over whether the 34-year-old, who will be a free agent in March, will ever play again. His absence will lead to a slight change in DE Randy Starks' routine. Starks, who has a career-high 5½ sacks this season, had been playing mostly defensive end, but he will play more often at tackle, most likely in passing situations, for the rest of the season. Starks has been very difficult to block in one-on-one situations and shifting him inside will lead to more opportunities for the team's younger D-linemen, including DEs Phillip Merling and Kendall Langford, to make plays. The Dolphins also will get a long look at Paul Soliai, who has an opportunity to prove he can be the nose tackle of the future, although sources are skeptical about his ability to thrive in that role.
