The Buccaneers announced a series of personnel moves on Tuesday.

They placed QB Byron Leftwich, who started the first three games of the year, on injured reserve, ending his season. Leftwich was demoted to third-string after Week Three and had not been activated for a game since. The seventh-year veteran signed a two-year deal with the Bucs, but he will likely be cut after the season. Tampa Bay also released rookie CB Mike Mickens.

The Bucs signed rookie QB Rudy Carpenter from the Cowboys' practice squad to take Leftwich's roster spot. Carpenter signed with Dallas as an undrafted free agent in the offseason. Tampa Bay also signed rookie WR Terrence Nunn from the Patriots' practice squad.
