Rams QB Marc Bulger took a beating in St. Louis' 21-13 loss to the Cardinals Sunday, and Monday was not much better for the ninth-year veteran as it was revealed that he will miss the next 3-6 weeks.
Bulger underwent an MRI exam on his groin and hamstring, then was due to have a second MRI on a swollen knee. He also was being tested for concussion-related symptoms.
The team announced Monday evening that Bulger had suffered a tibial plateau fracture in his left leg during the loss to Arizona. Backup QB Kyle Boller will start against Seattle Sunday.
Boller has played in three games this season, with two starts. He has completed 49-of-86 passes for 481 yards with two TDs and three interceptions.
Bulger, who has had problems staying healthy again this season, was knocked woozy by Cardinals DT Darnell Dockett for a sack on first down with 61 seconds remaining Sunday. He appeared to be laboring on the two incompletions and unsuccessful fourth-down scramble that ended the game.
