After only 11 practices with his new team, rookie WR Brandon Gibson showed why the Rams went out of their way to obtain him from the Eagles just before the trade deadline. "It was a pretty good debut," said one team insider of Gibson's seven-catch, 93-yard outing against the Saints that figured to earn him a starting role the rest of the season after Keenan Burton suffered a season-ending knee injury in the same game. "He showed that he could outmuscle guys for extra yardage as well as make them miss with his elusiveness." It didn't take long for Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt to notice Gibson in advance of Arizona's Week 11 visit to St. Louis. "You put the tape on and see what he did," Whisenhunt said. "It was quite impressive. I certainly saw that the quarterback got a pretty good feel for him early, and he ran some nice routes. I think that we certainly had him rated on our draft board, and I am not surprised that he is doing well."

PFW has launched its brand-new NFL Draft Newsletter series, with the second issue being released later this month. Produced by PFW's player personnel department under the direction of Nolan Nawrocki, the series consists of four information-packed issues.
