Greg Manusky's defense has been very solid for the most part his season, especially against the run, but one thing that continues to be a problem is the lack of any real pass rush. The two players projected to be the team's primary pass rushers —  OLBs Manny Lawson, a former first-round draft pick, and Parys Haralson, who signed a four-year, $15 million contract extension not long before the 2009 draft after registering a team-high eight sacks in '08 — have a mere 3½ sacks combined. "Haralson is a bigger disappointment because Lawson has yet to show any real pass-rush ability," said a team insider. "Lawson has value in other ways; he sets the edge very well and is good in coverage. I'm not sure what the problem has been with Haralson. He's still real active and tries hard, but he just hasn't been finishing. It could be that offenses are paying more attention to him because they believe he's the only guy who they have to worry about rushing the passer."

PFW has launched its brand-new NFL Draft Newsletter series, with the second issue being released later this month. Produced by PFW's player personnel department under the direction of Nolan Nawrocki, the series consists of four information-packed issues.
