No sooner did the Seahawks' offensive line finally deploy its preferred starting five (minus Walter Jones) than TE John Carlson once again became a very legitimate fantasy force with first TD since Week One, when he started off the season with two scores. Carlson, who had become more of a blocker than a receiver with Seattle's O-line being undermanned, could cause problems this Sunday for a Vikings defense that has had its share of problems handling tight ends this season (Vernon Davis and Jermichael Finley, to name a few).
Rams TE Daniel Fells (3-51-0 last week) continues to be a serviceable fantasy performer, even though he dropped a key pass late in the game against the Saints.
Packers TE Spencer Havner has burst out of the fantasy woodwork with four TDs in the last four games, but with Jermichael Finley finally expected to be fully recovered from his knee injury this week, look for Havner to go back under the fantasy radar.
Will a change at quarterback boost the fantasy value of Raiders TE Zach Miller? Probably not by much. While Bruce Gradkowski will probably make fewer mistakes than JaMarcus Russell, he's not going to post good numbers, and Oakland is still a run-first offense. Keep Miller on the bench.
The Patriots were able to limit Colts TE Dallas Clark to four catches for 65 yards, and they held Jets TE Dustin Keller to three grabs for 22 yards in Week Two, although Keller did score a TD in that game. With Mark Sanchez still searching for consistency, avoid playing Keller on Sunday as the Jets travel to New England.
Steelers TE Heath Miller has caught 13 passes in the last three weeks, but he's only racked up 82 yards receiving, with a long reception of just 14 yards. Miller is a frequent target of QB Ben Roethlisberger, but he's not going to be running down the seam very often in the Steelers' offense; that's left to the wide receivers. Nonetheless, Miller has a good matchup vs. the Chiefs this week and remains a very good starting option.
Redskins TE Chris Cooley (ankle) remains out at least another week. Fred Davis again gets the call this Sunday at Dallas.
