Coming into the season, the Chargers were concerned about what kind of production they'd get from the inside linebacker spot next to Stephen Cooper. Their worries were calmed when free-agent pickup Kevin Burnett started the year strong, but when he went down with an ankle injury in Week Six, their fears returned — but not for long. While Burnett was out, San Diego got solid production not only from Tim Dobbins, who proceeded to suffer an ankle injury of his own in Week Eight, but also from Brandon Siler. From what we hear, Siler, in his third year, especially impressed coaches, playing beyond expectations and possessing a "bulldog" mentality against the run. Now that all three are at full strength, the Chargers suddenly find themselves with surprising depth at the position. Going forward, it's likely the trio will be in a rotation, with Burnett playing the majority of the snaps but Dobbins and Siler seeing plenty of action on running downs.
