If healthy, rookie James Casey stands a good chance of being the Texans' top pass-catching tight end down the stretch and potentially a key part of the offense. Casey caught the first two passes of his pro career Nov. 1 at Buffalo after Owen Daniels suffered a season-ending knee injury, but the first-year player from Rice suffered his own knee injury vs. the Bills and missed the Week Nine game at Indianapolis. Daniels' injury also has thrust TEs Joel Dreessen and Anthony Hill into bigger roles in the offense, but Casey is the most natural receiver of the group and best positioned to pick up the slack in Daniels' considerable absence. Dreessen, the most experienced of the club's tight ends, is also the Texans' long-snapper, making him most vital on special teams. QB Matt Schaub sees the field well and will spread the ball to multiple receivers, giving Casey an opportunity to make an impact as a complementary target.
