The Saints were in need of some help at cornerback and found some in former Ravens CB Chris McAlister. Reports indicate McAlister signed a one-year deal late Tuesday and New Orleans cut QB Chase Daniel to make room for him.
McAlister, an 11th-year veteran, had been out of the league since the end of last season. He made two Pro Bowls earlier in his career with the Ravens, but injuries plagued him in recent years.
Both of the Saints' starters at corner, Jabari Greer and Tracy Porter, are nursing injuries. Greer missed the team's win against the Rams in Week 10 and Porter suffered a knee injury vs. St. Louis that could keep him out for 4-6 weeks. Greer may return to the lineup on Sunday.
