The Dolphins' offense suffered a devastating loss on the eve of their matchup with the Panthers, as RB Ronnie Brown was placed on injured reserve, bringing his season to an end.
Brown, who led the team in rushing yards (648) and touchdowns (eight), injured his ankle and foot during Miami's Week 10 win over the Buccaneers and had to leave the game. The foot injury is believed to be more serious.
The fifth-year veteran served as the triggerman in the Dolphins' "Wildcat" offense. Those duties will be handled by Ricky Williams for the remainder of the year. With a first-year starter at quarterback in Chad Henne, the offense relied on its ground game to carry the load and Brown, together with Williams, served as one of the most effective 1-2 punches in the league.
