Seahawks owner Paul Allen has been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, the team confirmed today. Allen was diagnosed earlier this month and has already begun chemotherapy.
"He received the diagnosis early this month and has begun chemotherapy," said a statement from Jody Allen, Paul's sister and the chief executive officer of Vulcan, a company owned by Allen. "Doctors say he has diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, a relatively common form of lymphoma."
Allen, a co-founder of Microsoft, has been the owner of the Seahawks since 1997.
