An injury suffered by Saints CB Tracy Porter, who started the first nine games of the season, is not as severe as it appeared to be when he was carted to the locker room during Sunday's win over the Rams.
The team announced that Porter sprained his left medial collateral ligament on Monday. Head coach Sean Payton did not say when Porter was expected to be ready to play again, but it likely take 4-6 weeks for him to recover.
Initial reports indicated Porter tore his ACL, which would have put him out for the rest of the season, but the Saints have reason to be optimistic that the second-year veteran will be back late this year.
