As expected, the Rams announced Monday that they had placed second-year WR Keenan Burton on injured reserve with a torn patella tendon. Burton, who entered the Rams’ Week 10 game against the Saints as the Rams’ leading receiver with 25 catches, went down for the count in the first quarter after landing awkwardly on a Marc Bulger pass that was intercepted by Saints S Usama Young. Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo said Burton will have surgery on the injured kneecap.

Burton becomes the third Rams wideout this season to go on injured reserve along with veteran Laurent Robinson, who was obtained in a trade this offseason with the Falcons, and 2009 fifth-round draft pick Brooks Foster. The Rams now have a total of eight players on injured reserve this season.
